Exciting new venture for Paper Moth Studio!

My husband, Jason, and I officially launched our own business: Hatch Creative Services. We are offering creative consulting, design, and workshops for creative businesses and individuals. Check it out!

Now accepting commissions!

The holiday season is just around the corner and what makes a better gift than something custom and straight from the heart?

Paper Moth Studio is now accepting commissions for portraits, drawings, and other creative projects! Please check out my Instagram feed for ideas on what I can offer you.

Need an invitation design for your holiday party or a custom greeting card? I can create those for you as well. Drop me a line and lets make some holiday magic!

Autumn and Fall

Fall is here! Which also means... Autumn's first birthday is just a couple of short days away. I've been super busy working on her birthday party and having lots of fun making banners and favors for the big day. Here's a little preview of my crafty creations...

Kitty headbands for the guests! Made with felt, hot glue, and lots of patience!

Kitty heads made of cut paper... these will be turned into a birthday banner.

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.

Happy ArtPrize Day!

ArtPrize8 begins today! It's exciting to be apart of this event—the city comes alive as people from all over flood in to share and experience art. My drive into downtown from NW Grand Rapids is changed by ArtPrize. The landscape is different. Sculptures and installations fill otherwise open space, people gather around and move in currents... There is a certain energy in the air because of it!

My piece is on display at First (Park) Congregational. A beautiful church situated downtown near the Public Library and Veteran's Park. I'm looking forward to the ArtPrize buzz and hope to make some new connections!

Please leave me a comment if you stop by!

ArtPrize 2016

ArtPrize is just around the corner. Feeling good about my entry this year — my drawing is not only done, but it is framed and ready to hang! My website is done (for now) and I just ordered cards to set out next to my piece.

Last year, we missed ArtPrize since I was 9 months pregnant. It will be fun to walk around downtown with our daughter this year. Even at her young age, she is so aware of her surroundings. She will love the crowds, the different colors/textures/shapes found in the variety of art, and, of course, will be voting for her momma (wink wink).

My piece will be shown at First (Park) Congregational off of Fulton by the Public Library but for now, you can view it here...

Thank you for visiting the new online home for Paper Moth Studio. Lots happening in the studio these days...

ArtPrize Eight begins in just a few weeks. My piece, "Ursa Major (Strong Like Bear)" will be on display at the First (Park) Church.

Fall semester began last week. I'm teaching Digital Processes for the Artist—one of the classes I created—and my favorite, Figure Drawing I. I'm hoping to post some of my demos and student work.

Lastly, I'm developing a new creative consulting business. But that's all I will say about that for now...
