CANDLE CARE

Get the most out of your candles with these tips.

  • The Wick

Candle care starts with wick care! Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn. This will help keep the flame from growing too big, and can reduce the amount of sooting and mushrooming from the wick.

  • The Melt Pool

until the wax pool makes it to the sides of the candle. A full melt pool is especially important when lighting for the first time to prevent tunneling and will help your candle last longer. Keep in mind it may take 2-4 hours for the wax to melt across the entire surface.

  • Safety

For additional candle safety and care, be sure to read and follow the directions on the candle warning label! That's the little round sticker on the bottom of the jar. We recommend checking it before lighting up.

JEWELRY CARE

Follow these recommendations to protect your one of a kind, handcrafted earrings and pendants.

  • Avoid getting your jewelry wet. This goes for styling products and makeup, too! Pro tip: always put on jewelry last.

  • Store jewelry out of direct sunlight in a sealed bag, box, or the original packaging.

  • Brass tarnishes over time. Enjoy the natural patina or make your frames good as new by gently cleaning with a polishing cloth.

  • That’s it! Now go rock your story-inspired style.

AFTER CARE

Rest assured that after the adventure is over, your candle vessel is 100% recyclable or reusable.

  • After your candle cools from the last burn, remove the wrap-around label from the vessel. We've designed our labels for easy removal with one small strip of adhesive attaching it to the vessel. The label and adhesive are fully recyclable, so feel free to toss it into your blue bin. Or save that lovely artwork and use it as a bookmark. You know you can never have too many bookmarks.

  • Next, you'll need to remove the remaining wax from your jar. There are a few ways you can do this, but we find it's easiest to first scrape out as much as possible using a spoon or butter knife. Then, carefully pour boiling water into the jar. The hot water will melt the remaining wax, and as the water cools, the wax will separate and collect at the top for easy removal. Just don't pour down your drain! You can also use a hair dryer or a heat gun for this step.

  • Finally, remove the wick tab from the jar and wipe clean with rubbing alcohol or good ol' soap and water. Now you can recycle, or keep scrolling for more ideas.

  • Ways to reuse or upcycle your jar:

    • Decorate: Create a centerpiece with fresh flowers, pebble art, or plant a succulent.
    • Get organized: Our jars make perfect pen holders and containers for all those little things that tend to accumulate on our desks over time. Round up all your spare bookmarks, loose change, paper clips, or rubber bands in one place.
    • Store even more: Jars are also the perfect way to store your arts & crafts supplies or kitchen essentials like sugar, coffee, or, most importantly, chocolate!
